Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: August 2026 · Draft pending legal review
Dynamic QR codes redirect real people to destinations they can't see in advance, so we enforce this policy strictly. You must not use FreeQR to create, host or redirect to:
- Phishing pages, credential harvesting, or impersonation of any brand or person.
- Malware, spyware, or software downloads that harm devices.
- Scams, fraudulent offers, or deceptive redirects that misrepresent the destination.
- Illegal content or content that facilitates illegal activity in Australia or the scanner's jurisdiction.
- Child sexual abuse material — reported to authorities without exception.
- Content that infringes others' intellectual property rights.
- Attempts to probe, overload or abuse the FreeQR platform itself.
Destinations are checked automatically at creation and whenever they change, and anyone can report a QR code. Codes that violate this policy are suspended; serious or repeated violations lead to account suspension. Legitimate use is never rate-limited or expired — this policy exists to protect the people scanning your codes.
