What 'free' actually means here
Many QR generators advertise 'free' codes that stop working after 14 days unless you subscribe. FreeQR doesn't do that. Static QR codes are generated directly in your browser, belong to you, and can't be turned off — we never even see their contents.
Dynamic QR codes need infrastructure (redirects, analytics, editing), which is why most services charge for all of them. FreeQR gives every verified user one dynamic QR free forever: no expiry, no credit card, and no fixed scan limit. It only ever stops working if it's used for abuse like phishing or malware.
Everything included in the free plan
Unlimited static QR generation across nine content types, full colour and style customisation, logo embedding, transparent backgrounds, high-resolution PNG (up to 4096 px) and SVG export, plus one dynamic QR with 30-day scan analytics and 25 MB of hosted file storage.
When you'd pay
You only pay if you need more than one dynamic QR. From A$4.99/month for ten codes, or a one-off A$29 for one extra lifetime dynamic QR with no subscription at all. Clear Australian pricing, cancel online anytime.
Frequently asked questions
- Will my free QR code stop working?
- No. Static codes can't be turned off, and your free dynamic QR is free forever with no expiry and no fixed scan limit.
- Is there a watermark?
- No watermark on your QR codes. Free hosted pages show a small 'Made with FreeQR' footer, which paid plans can remove.
- Do I need to create an account?
- Not for static QR codes — generate and download as many as you like with no signup. An account is only needed to claim your free dynamic QR code, since that one needs somewhere to store the editable destination and scan analytics.
