Dynamic QR Codes

Print it once. Change it anytime. A dynamic QR contains a short FreeQR link, so you can update the destination and track scans long after the code is printed.

How a dynamic QR code works

Instead of encoding your destination directly, a dynamic QR encodes a short redirect link like q.freeqr.com.au/7Dk2MxQp. When someone scans it, our redirect service looks up your current destination and sends them there in milliseconds.

Because the printed code never changes, you can move the destination from your old website to your new one, swap a seasonal menu, fix a typo in a link, or point last year's flyer at this year's campaign — all without reprinting anything.

Scan analytics included

Every dynamic QR records scans over time, unique visitors (estimated privately, without storing IP addresses), top countries, device types, browsers and operating systems — so you know whether that poster, sticker or menu is actually being scanned.

Your first dynamic QR is free forever

Create a verified FreeQR account and your first dynamic QR is free forever: editable destination, scan analytics, no expiry, no credit card, no fixed scan limit. Need more? Plans start at A$4.99/month for ten codes, or add one extra lifetime QR for A$29 once.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I stop paying for a subscription?
Your QR codes are never deleted. Your Free Forever QR — the first dynamic QR you created — stays active, and any subscription-backed QR codes pause until you upgrade again. A$29 lifetime QRs keep working regardless.
Does a dynamic QR scan slower than a static one?
The redirect adds a single fast hop served from a global edge network — in practice scans feel instant.
Can the short link ever point to someone else's content?
No. Once a FreeQR short link is issued to you it is never reused, even if you delete the QR code.
